Paul Ford, who perhaps you know as the smart if sometimes mopey lad living in Brooklyn who builds a sprawling and chasteningly innovative if sometimes mopey site called Ftrain, continues noodling about with language and narrative and being impressive at it.

He has posted a small, peculiarly resonant piece made entirely with words of one syllable. This and the story are interesting enough, but also posted is a recording in MP3 of Paul reading the last part of the piece. It’s really something: sonorous, clipped words blotting together on the surface, the cadence like waves. Go listen to it.
