Noooo…. Nope, if you look carefully you’ll notice the backside of Hugo’s left ear twitched just before the shutter released in this one. And there’s a book missing from the shelf.
Dean would never double whamy us with the same photo… would he?

In this his third novel, Oliver turns his paw to Inspector Weimar’s (his thinly-disguised alter ego), pursuit of arch-criminal Hugo, stick thief extraordinaire whose dark plans include an attempt to corner the world stick market and eliminate Inspector Weimar once and for all.
“Remarkable achievement!”—Lassie
“A real page turner!”—Asta

Brilliant, Billy, but you left out one important element; Oliver’s long-time, on-again, off-again love, the poodle with the jeweled collar.
Look at the longing and sadness in those eyes. There’s a dog who has loved and lost!
Sometimes he thinks he sees her frolicking at the crest of a hill, or smells her scent lingering on a bush…
He’d give up all those literary cocktail parties, those book signings full of adoring fans just for one sniff of her!
